"I have to say this program has been life changing!"

"Dealing with cancer isn't a fun task and you have no control. This program was something I could take control of and also learn what my body needs to keep the cancer away and also what my body needs after going through treatments, radiation, etc..."

- Becky,
Group Coaching Student & Cancer Thriver

But what if, after cancer you actually found the energy you need to do all the things you love? Developed a healthy relationship with food - leaving fear behind? And, instead of just physically being "there", you're fully present in the life right before you?

I, too, can name countless things cancer took from me. But, with a focus of controlling the controllables and evidence-based information regarding nutrition and lifestyle - I was able to loosen cancer's grip on my life and truly live. Now, I teach cancer survivors to do the same in their own Wholesome life.

Ready to live your healthiest life?

Cancer. Changes. Everything. And after a diagnosis, it feels as though cancer constantly keeps taking.

A cancer diagnosis brings on a cascade of emotions.

A cancer diagnosis brings on a cascade of emotions.

After a cancer diagnosis, in treatment, and into survivorship...

01

Overwhelm. After a diagnosis, it often feels like everything is unfolding faster than we can keep up.

02

Lack of control. We cannot control cancer itself and it often feels as though cancer is in the driver's seat.

03

Exhausted. Mentally, emotionally, and physically - the packed calendar of appointments, side effects of treatments, yet still managing the life that continues around you despite cancer.

04

Seeking Clarity. The deep desire to know what to do when faced with all the different choices and choosing what will have the best outcome.

but guess what...

You can grab the reins back and have some control.

When I stopped focusing on the things cancer was taking from me and instead looked at what it was giving me - a wake-up call, a new perspective on life, and a sense of urgency to actually live - I took back the control. By focusing on the things I could control, I realized my cancer diagnosis could actually change my life for the better. It became my teacher. And it all started with empowerment.

And that empowerment starts with what you can control - nutrition, lifestyle, and mindset.

My doctors are thrilled by the results because my blood pressure has normalized and for the first time in 25 years, I have a normal BMI. Most importantly, I like knowing that I have some degree of control over my health and I'm really proud of myself for taking the leap of faith to join Alison's program.

Achieving transformative results in our program hinges on embracing a growth mindset. By fostering an outlook that thrives on challenges, persistence, and continuous learning, you'll unlock your potential to adapt, overcome obstacles, and cultivate lasting nutrition and lifestyle changes as a cancer survivor.

I'll teach you the evidence-based benefits of plant-based nutrition as a approach to reduce the risk of cancer and its recurrence. Plus, establish an incredible foundation in nutrition concepts such as (but not limited too) insulin resistance, inflammation, and gut health. By having a firm understanding of these commonly overlooked - but critical - concepts, you’ll not only gain a powerful motivation driven by knowledge, but also equip yourself with the knowledge you need to embrace upcoming recommendations for a cancer fighting diet and lifestyle.

Pillar two

The heart of the program is truly the transformative power of group support. Through dedicated group coaching calls and a private group community, you’ll find a safe space for shared experiences, mutual encouragement, and collective growth. Walk through this part of your journey with not only me as a board certified oncology dietitian and cancer survivor, but also with a community of other survivors where understanding and shared strength thrive, ensuring you’re never on this path alone.

L: Lifeline of Community & Support

Pillar Four

Not only do we need knowledge, we need implementation. The program takes you through a journey of showing you how to seamlessly integrate the teachings and strategies into your life in a simple, realistic, and sustainable way. If you’re just starting out in the plant-based journey, you’ll have a strong foundation of how to build your meals in a nourishing, satisfying, and cancer fighting way. If you’ve been focused on plant-based for a bit, you’ll be able to take the concepts taught to refine and master your already plant-based approach.

"My biggest regret is that I didn't do it sooner!"

"Helped to raise my awareness of how it all syncs with my lifestyle as a whole."

I am so glad that [my oncologist] recommended that I reach out to you so many months ago. You have truly helped me not only with my dietary choices but helped to raise my awareness of how it all syncs with my lifestyle as a whole... I am convinced I was able to tolerate my radiation and chemo because of the guidance you gave me... I thank you for that.

What students are saying

“You've helped free me from a trapped mind that was afraid of food."

So very thankful for you! The influence you’ve had on me is more than just food! You’ve helped free me from a trapped mind that was afraid of food. You liberated me from some weighty protocols and your perspective and grace has given me peace.

"Alison is a must work with if you want to make changes (big or small) to better your health!"

As a young cancer survivor, I knew I needed to make changes to my diet but was overwhelmed with what to prioritize and what changes needed to happen first. Alison was fun and easy to work alongside as I changed my diet and ultimately my lifestyle.

Lindsey ditched overwhelm

If you're overwhelmed and perhaps frustrated with information available on nutrition and cancer - you're not alone. The conflicting information available on the internet, yet often no education given from your oncology team can result in anxiety, fear, and frustration. If you're interested in the opportunity to complement traditional cancer therapies with a whole-person approach to improve your quality of life and reduce the risk of cancer and its recurrence - you're in exactly the right place. I've got you.

There are so many aspects of being a cancer patient that non-cancer patients just can't understand - no matter how much they might try to. Although no two cancer journeys are the same, I can relate to the depth and weight of the emotions that come with a cancer diagnosis and its treatments.

You're in the right place.

"Control the controllables."

I'm Alison. A cancer survivor, thriver and dietitian.

I'm not your average dietitian. My focus on nutrition and lifestyle against cancer isn't just a profession or a passion - it's personal. My professional experience as a board certified oncology dietitian coupled with my own personal experience with cancer and its treatments provide me a unique perspective of being able to relate to my students on an entirely different level. As my students often tell me, "You just get it." And that, I do.

more about me

Hey there!

Even when you did everything right...

I'll always remember those phone calls. My mom calling to tell me she had breast cancer. The one informing me my grandfather had liver cancer, my godmother breast cancer, and my grandmother breast cancer.

Then I received my very own phone call confirming I had breast cancer. I knew from my years as a cancer dietitian that you could "do everything right" and still get cancer. But it was the realization that those things I did right were the things that were going to help me thrive through surgery, treatment and into survivorship. Now, I want to help you do the same.

Certainly, there is no guarantee in anything. However, there is incredible power in focusing on controlling the controllables.

And as a one of my very own clients and cancer thrivers told me, I want to tell you the same...

You did not cause your cancer. But, you can control how you respond to it.

A Program Unlike Any Other Program

Merging evidence-based recommendations with practical, realistic IMPLEMENTATION

I created The Wholesome Journey program because it was the exact program I was looking for when I started my plant-based journey. Despite my years of education to become a dietitian - including a master's degree - the truth is we just aren't taught plant-based nutrition or cancer nutrition, let alone the two together. After years of doing my own digging, personal implementation, and walking hundreds of cancer patients through my 4-pillar process, I decided it was finally time to put it into an easy-to-access program for you. The Wholesome Journey merges evidence-based nutrition recommendations from top cancer agencies around the world with real-life, practical implementation.

A robust program focused on your biggest questions - and the ones you didn't know you had! We've got you covered with our plate method to make meal planning simple, an understanding of disease principles (inflammation, IGF-1, etc.), and into the big topics such as carbohydrates, sugar, gut health, and of course protein. But there's so much more! Be sure to download the curriculum to take a closer look.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to become vegan or vegetarian?

Certainly not! The Wholesome Journey programming supports individuals seeking 100% vegan or vegetarian, or those seeking a plant-forward approach. It's up to you!

I'm currently undergoing cancer treatment. Is this program still right for me?

Active treatment individuals are more than welcome to join the program and can absolutely benefit! However, lessons and education will be more focused on survivorship strategies, rather than active treatment needs related to side effect management (i.e. diarrhea, mouth sores, etc.). If you would also like strategies for active treatment, the mentorship program would your best choice.

Do these programs include any lab work or testing for potential deficiencies?

No, these programs do not. If joining the program during the promotional period, you'll gain access to our Routine Blood Test Guide. If enrolled in our mentorship program, Alison can make suggestions of what labs to discuss with your physician for future lab draws.

I'm interested in adopting a more plant-based nutrition approach. However, my partner and/or family members are not interested. Can this program still work for me?

This is incredibly common. So common, in fact, that we have an entire unit within the program dedicated to helping to work through these obstacles.

I don't have a history of a cancer diagnosis. Can I still participate in the program?

Yes! The Wholesome Journey reflects many of the recommendations towards the research on cancer, but the program is for anyone interested in adopting a plant-based nutrition approach to reduce the risk of cancer and other chronic diseases. Many individuals with high risk of cancer (such as a genetic mutation) are common students within our programming.

I've already adopted a plant-based nutrition approach. Is this program still right for me, or is it only for beginners?

Our program is for plant-based beginners and those already immersed in plant-based nutrition seeking to refine their approach and ensure nutrition adequacy.

I have a complicated medical history and need a lot of help. Which program is right for me?

If you feel you need more individual attention, the mentorship program would be right for you.

How long do I have access to the program materials?

After enrolling in any level of support, you'll gain immediate lifetime access to the program content and any future updates made. Should the program discontinue at any point, you'd be given a minimum of 30-day notice via email to download any content you'd like to keep.

I notice the Group Program includes 12-week access to a private group community. Is this program on Facebook or another platform?

Our private group community (available to all group and mentorship students) is hosted through a platform called Kajabi - it is not through Facebook or another social media platform. In fact, the entire program is hosted on Kajabi. After enrolling, you'll receive a username and password to your private account. Within this platform, you'll gain access to the course curriculum and group community. No Facebook account required!

What if I can't make the live Group Coaching calls?

Although we encourage live attendance as much as possible, we understand it just isn't always possible. Every group coaching call is recorded and uploaded to the private community and course platform. If you have questions you would like answered during the group call, we recommend submitting your question prior to the group calls so it can be answered for you. You can then get your answer in the recorded call.

Still have a question that hasn't been answered?

No problem! Send us an email and we'll be sure to get it answered for you.
